The Luxembourg City Tourist Office reported a successful Easter weekend, as large crowds flocked to the capital for the traditional Emaischen, as well as touristic mainstays such as the casemates.

Luxembourg City has recorded a strong start to the 2026 tourist season, boosted by sunny weather and the extended Easter weekend, according to the Luxembourg City Tourist Office.

Between April 3 and 6, large numbers of visitors took the opportunity to explore the capital. The Tourist Office on Place Guillaume II (Knuedler) welcomed 2,265 people, with most visitors coming from Germany, followed by France and the Netherlands.

Guided tours were also in high demand, attracting nearly 500 participants. A family-focused Easter safari proved particularly popular and was almost fully booked.

Casemates remain top attraction for tourists

The Bock Casemates once again ranked among the city’s biggest draws, welcoming more than 5,000 visitors over the four-day period. The Pétrusse Casemates also saw strong interest, with close to 1,900 visitors.

Another highlight of the weekend was the traditional Eimaischen in the Old Town, which drew large crowds.

Strong online interest

Tourism activity was also reflected online, with more than 20,000 visits recorded on the official website, luxembourg-city.com, over the same period.
