The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) has reported that six accidents left four people injured on Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after 12pm, an electrical appliance caught fire on Rue de Longwy in Luxembourg City. Around two hours later, a dryer caught fire on Allée Scheffer. These two fires – along with a third in Esch-sur-Alzette, where bark mulch caught fire – resulted only in material damage. In all cases, the local fire brigade extinguished the blaze.
In general, emergency personnel in the capital were kept busy on Wednesday afternoon. In addition to the two fires, they were also despatched to an accident between Itzig and Hesperange, where they provided support to their local colleagues. Two vehicles had collided, but no one was injured.
Luxembourg City rescue services also intervened on Route d'Arlon in Strassen, receiving support from colleagues in Bertrange and Mamer. That incident involved a collision between a car and a motorcycle and resulted only in material damage.
On Rue de Hollerich in Luxembourg City, a pedestrian was injured after being hit by a car.
Two cars collided on Route de Thionville in another incident that resulted in material damage only, with no injuries.
Other incidents did not involve Luxembourg City emergency services. One involved a collision between three cars between the Ehlerange Tunnel and the Ehlerange exit on the A13. Paramedics from Esch-sur-Alzette and Sanem-Differdange treated two injured individuals.
A motorcyclist was injured after crashing between Fischbach and Stuppicht. Emergency personnel from Larochette and Fischbach were despatched to that scene.
