The second suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing on Rue Philippe II in Luxembourg City last Friday has been found, police confirmed on Thursday morning.

The Grand Ducal Police announced on Thursday morning that the second suspect in connection with the stabbing on Rue Philippe II in Luxembourg City has been identified and located.

Following a medical examination, the man was taken to the Uerschterhaff penitentiary centre and brought before an examining magistrate on Wednesday 29 April. He had been actively sought since Friday 24 April, when a brawl involving several people broke out on Rue Philippe II at around 10.20pm.

Multiple police units responded to the scene and found a man who had been stabbed several times. According to initial findings, an altercation between two individuals had escalated into a wider fight.

The victim was given initial treatment at the scene before being transported to hospital. The investigation subsequently established that he had also stabbed his attacker. Because of this, the man was also arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office.
