The Minister of Health was the guest of RTL this Friday and gave an update on the new measures announced. This included nightlife, self-testing, and cross-vaccinations.

According to Paulette Lenert, the recent rise in new infections, including in schools, is mainly due to nightlife. Self-testing, which the minister considers the weakest link in the prevention of Covid, is therefore only valid until midnight.

Rapid tests cannot simply be banned, even if that would have been the easiest solution. This measure, which is now part of the habits of many people, offers considerable flexibility for a good number of sectors, the minister stressed.

Lenert advocates a nuanced rather than a radical solution. Those who want to invite more than ten people to their homes can do so again, but they should not forget to notify the Health Directorate.

The event must comply with the health measures relating to Covid as laid down by law. A reminder of these measures is available on the official website of the Luxembourg government.

The minister returned to the subject of the mixing of vaccines, authorised in Luxembourg since this Friday.

Citizens will have the choice when making their appointment. She also indicated that parents who still have doubts about their children’s vaccination can always ask their doctor.
