The Grand Duke's statement came after the Lëtzebuerger Land published an article claiming the Grand Duchess was solely responsible for running Palace affairs, in conjunction with the 90-page Waringo report which was passed to the Prime Minister on Saturday.
According to Grand Duke Henri's statement, which was published in four languages, his wife has been unfairly accused in the media.
The contents of the report, which analysed the use of public funds for the monarchy, were not alluded to in the Grand Duke's statement.
The official line from the Chamber of Deputies is that the contents of the report must be discussed prior to any conclusions. Chamber president Fernand Etgen spoke to RTL's Eric Ewald on Monday, saying the Chamber had not yet been contacted regarding the report and its consequences.
Etgen did say the Grand Duke's statement was atypical, but did not wish to comment further.

CSV parliament leader Martine Hansen echoed Etgen's statement that no comment could be made until the report was discussed within the government. It is not yet known whether the report will be passed to a commission, or whether it will be discussed within the Chamber itself.

Some political figures expressed the sentiment that the report should be made available to the public.
The DP's André Bauler said the Prime Minister had said the Chamber would decide whether the report would be dealt with by one or more commissions in terms of analysis.
Déi Gréng's Djuna Bernard felt the report should published, as the public had a right to know about the contents. The Grand Duke's letter cited the need for transparency alongside the modernisation of the monarchy as an institution, which would support the publication of the report.
Georges Engel of the LSAP said if the report were not made public, it would lead to further speculation, of the kind denounced by the Grand Duke in Monday's statement.
Martine Hansen said the report would help to create clear regulations which were much needed, and she had full confidence in Jeannot Waringo's capabilities.
One possibility is that the report will be analysed by the institution commission.
Sven Clement of the Pirate Party said the government had been asked to show the report to the Chamber as soon as possible so MPs could familiarise themselves with the contents and thus provide the relevant commission with their recommendations.
