This was confirmed by Minister of Internal Security Henri Kox in his reply to a parliamentary question by MPs Claude Lamberty and Carole Hartmann from the Democratic Party (DP).

In their question, the MPs had enquired how the Minister plans to react to the announcement of protests in front of hospitals next weekend. However, Kox merely stated that no applications for such a protest had been submitted so far and that any non-registered protest taking place outside of the specified security perimeter is in violation of a municipal regulation. The Minister did not specify what this means in practice or what the authorities plan to do if protests in front of hospitals were to take place after all.

In general, the Minister replied only partially or not at all to the questions raised by the MPs.

To the question whether the authorities would at all times guarantee access to the hospitals for patients and emergency services, Kox merely replied that the police’s number one priority is that no one is hurt.
