
On Thursday evening, a paraglider became trapped in a tree, prompting a rescue operation by the Hazardous Environment Reconnaissance and Intervention Group (GRIMP).
Firefighters were called to the scene at around 8.20pm on Thursday, along the CR348 between Bourscheid and Burden. In addition to the Bourscheid and Nordstad fire brigades, the specialised GRIMP unit was also dispatched. The rescue took place in the forest near Michelau.
According to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), no injuries were reported in the incident.
Elsewhere, three traffic-related accidents resulted in injuries on Thursday and Friday.
At around 7.15am on Thursday, two bicycles collided on Rue de Clairefontaine in Eischen, leaving one person injured.
Later that day at approximately 9.20pm, a car overturned on Rue de Trèves in Luxembourg City. The Emergency Medical Assistance Team (SAMU) was dispatched to treat one injured person.
In the early hours of Friday, at around 2.20am, a car crashed on Rue Aessen in Soleuvre. One person was injured in the incident.
The CGDIS also reported two fires. One involved a kitchen fire on Rue de l’Alzette in Esch-sur-Alzette, while the second occurred inside a shop on Grand Rue in Luxembourg City. In both cases, no injuries were reported, and the fires resulted solely in material damage.
