Health measuresNo longer obligatory to wear a mask in the car

RTL Today
Many people expressed uncertainty regarding wearing masks in the car.

Last week, legal restrictions were relaxed to allow more than 20 people to meet up. In response to a question from RTL, the Ministry of State confirmed that this easing also applies to those travelling in a car.

Until now, it was mandatory to wear a protective mask when you were in a car with people who were not from the same household. This is no longer necessary.

Protective masks or face coverings are still recommended, but this is not a legal requirement. However, wearing a mask is still compulsory on public transport.
