After Michel Wolter stepped down as mayor of Käerjeng to make way for a new generation, his wife Nadine Braconnier took the first formal step toward succeeding him by being sworn in as a local councillor.

On Tuesday morning, Nadine Braconnier was sworn in as a local councillor in Käerjeng, marking the first step in the municipality's leadership transition.

Municipal executive board member Frank Pirrotte led the swearing-in ceremony. Afterwards, the municipal council voted unanimously to propose Braconnier as the new mayor.

The news was shared on social media by Braconnier's husband, Michel Wolter, who had served as mayor of Käerjeng until his recent resignation. In an RTL interview, Wolter explained that he wanted to give a new generation the opportunity to establish itself.
