The police officers first noticed the speeding driver at 1.15am as the driver headed towards Schouweiler.
Turning on the police vehicle's siren, the officers followed the driver in the hopes of getting him to stop. The driver ignored the police officers and continued to speed through Bascharage at more than 110 kilometres per hour.
The motorist finally stopped his vehicle at the exit of the municipality, claiming that he neither noticed that he was speeding or that the officers had been following him with the siren on.
The officers fined the driver and confiscated his driver's license.
