The accident occurred on rue de la Gare and the driver suffered severe injuries, according to the police report on Friday.
Despite efforts to assist, the victim died at the scene of the crash.
The reason for how and why the driver lost control of the vehicle is yet to be determined.
The air ambulance attended the incident, alongside Ettelbruck first responders, and psychological support staff were on site to support shocked witnesses.
Earlier on, two people were left injured after an accident between Beyren and Mensdorf at 5.30pm.
One of the injured had to be cut out of their vehicle after the two cars collided.
