In November 2025, she resigned as mayor following months of accusations of bullying by municipal staff. Dali Zhu was then sworn in as the new mayor for the Democratic Party, while Zovilé-Braquet moved to the municipal council as a councillor.

Zovilé-Braquet had been active in the Contern municipality since 2008, including eight years as mayor. Following her resignation from the municipal council, she will now be replaced by Nathalie Schlesser-Coutelier.
