Around 1,200 policemen, emergency workers, and background actors are expected to participate in the drill, which will take place around the Rockhal concert hall and the CHEM hospital (Centre hospitalier Emile Mayrisch).
The Belval exercise will take place in and around the Rockhal and the surrounding area will be closed to the public, although other parts of Belval will not be affected.
Several roads will be closed to traffic and parking will be prohibited in certain areas on Saturday. Bus services 4, 7 and 15 will be rerouted and not pass through the Avenue du Rock'n'Roll. Railway services will operate as usual, accessible through Belval Plaza.
The following roads will be closed to traffic between 7am and 8pm:
Residents and visitors can expect to hear gunshots, screaming and explosions and should not be alarmed, as it is simply an exercise. The authorities have stressed that there will be no danger to any members of the public at any time.
As for road access to the Belval site, the Rue de l'Arbed will be reserved for security vehicles and emergency services. There will be a detour for the public to access the non-closed area.
