A warning has been issued against potential damage caused to homes and trees, as well as traffic issues, affecting road, rail and air travel, due to the red alert in place. The weather alert will change from orange to red between 1 am and 9 am on Monday.
Residents are strongly urged to stay at home and to only leave their homes if absolutely necessary, as well as to call 112 to report trees or other large objects obstructing roads.
