The Moroccan Minister of Finance reassured those present that Morocco is a stable North African country. The Arab Spring was largely survived thanks to a constitutional reform and 30% of the GDP invested in infrastructure. Schneider called them the best entry on the African content in terms of logistics.
The first Luxembourgish economic mission to Morocco, which took place in April 2015, identified other domains, such as the digital sector, in which Morocco hopes to learn more from Luxembourg.
The Minister of Industry for Morocco, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, also mentioned the financial centre, expressing the desire to show Moroccan operators the advantages of Luxembourg as a European platform, as well as attracting potential investment operators to Morocco.
When asked if he was disappointed that Minister of Finance Pierre Gramegna had not joined the delegation, Moulay Hafid Elalamy said he was not, as Luxembourg is not far and they were cultivating a permanent relationship.
