PoliceLuxembourg City busdriver verbally abused; mugging in Esch-sur-Alzette

At around 9pm, a heavily intoxicated individual became aggressive towards a bus driver in Luxembourg City, escalating to verbal abuse. When a police patrol arrived on Avenue Monterey to intervene, the man began waving his arms wildly and screaming. He was taken into custody as he was deemed to be a risk to himself and others, and put in a cell overnight to sober up.

In Esch-sur-Alzette, a young man was attacked by three others on rue Nelson Mandela at around 10pm on Monday. The attackers, all young and male, pushed the victim into a corner and threatened him with a knife until he handed over cash. The three then fled the scene and could not be located by police afterwards. The victim was left uninjured. A complaint was filed and a police investigation is currently underway.
