Germany travel restrictionsLuxembourg added to high-risk country list once more

RTL Today
Starting Sunday, travellers to Germany must be fully vaccinated or recovered from coronavirus, otherwise they must undergo a 10 day quarantine.

The German government has imposed new travel restrictions on nearly 40 countries including Luxembourg due to the high numbers of new cases. From Sunday onwards, Luxembourg will be considered a high-risk country, joining over 100 others on Germany’s red list.

This means travellers who are not fully vaccinated or recovered must quarantine for ten days upon arrival in Germany, with the option to take a test five days after entering the country. In the past, Luxembourg’s neighbouring states such as Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland allowed temporary 24-hour exceptions to people crossing the border.

Luxembourg is joined on the list by Sweden, Australia, Argentina, Israel, Kenya and Dubai. Ukraine was the only country to be removed from the list. From Sunday, Austria will be Germany’s only neighbour to escape the high-risk list.
