The LSAP general council confirmed the changes to take place in government for Franz Fayot, Dan Kersch and Paulette Lenert during their meeting on Wednesday evening.

53 of the 89 delegates form part of the LSAP’s general council. After Etienne Schneider announced his intention to leave his roles in government in February, a number of changes are set to take place in the party.

As previously reported, Franz Fayot is to join government as Minister for Economy and Cooperation. Dan Kersch will assume the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Paulette Lenert will become the new Minister of Health, and be responsible for Social Security.

87% of the members confirmed the changes in a vote. It remains to be seen who will replace Franz Fayot at the head of LSAP. Francine Closener is the only one to have expressed interest so far.
