
On Saturday at around 8pm, police received a report of a driver on the road between Bridel and Kopstal who had not only hit a crash barrier but also a road sign and a wall. Officers found the driver and the damaged car at the scene. The breathalyser test came back positive, and the licence was revoked on the spot, while the car had to be towed away.
Another driver had their licence revoked in Frisange after consuming too much alcohol. Fortunately, no accident occurred in this case.
On Rue Bender in Luxembourg City, a police patrol noticed a vehicle at around 10.30pm on Saturday that was not keeping to its lane. The driver was promptly stopped for a check, which revealed that he was over the legal alcohol limit, resulting in his licence being revoked.
The public prosecutor's office requested alcohol checks to be carried out during the night from Saturday to Sunday, in Luxembourg City near the Boulevard Joseph II and the Place Winston Churchill, in Hesperange near the cemetery, and on the Boulevard Kockelscheuer between the Rond-Point Gluck and the Boulevard F.W. Raiffeisen.
154 drivers were required to take a breathalyser test. In 9 cases, it came back positive, and one licence was revoked.
