The overall turnover remained stable in 2019, amounting to a total of €572.6 million which is an increase of 0.5%. Turnover generated through fixed networks increased by 2.6% while it declined by 1.6% for mobile services.
The analysis also confirms the downtrend in landline usage already established 2 years ago. Compared to 2018, usage declined by 12% in 2019.
When it comes to home internet, Luxembourgers prefer to buy multiservice subscriptions. The analysis shows an increase of 16.8%. 210,900 internet connections were sold in a bundle with at least one other service. This is the case in 91.7% of all internet subscriptions.
Subscriptions of mobile services also increased by 4.2%. 991,900 SIM cards were registered in Luxembourg as of late 2019.
The analysis also shows a strong increase in roaming traffic (+25.2%). Regarding internet usage abroad, the data volume of the national networks increased by 18% over a one-year period. Data volume within the country increased by 24.2%.
