Bereldange

Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, a fight broke out between two people in the street in Bereldange. One of the men pulled out a knife and threatened to attack the other. Upon arriving at the scene, police confiscated the knife and arrested its wielder following orders issued by the public prosecutor’s office. He was brought before magistrates on Thursday morning.

Alcohol checks

The public prosecutor’s office ordered a series of breathalyser checks between 4pm and 7pm on Tuesday, in the areas between Schoenfels and Keispelt, and in Boevange-sur-Attert.

307 motorists were checked in total, with six found to be over the legal alcohol limit. Two of these motorists lost their licence on the spot.

Break-ins

A series of home burglaries were reported on Wednesday, taking place in Bertrange, Erpeldange, Lamadelaine and Dudelange.

In Mertert, thieves broke into a petrol station in the night, stealing a large number of cigarette packets.
