Police were called to an office building on Rue Mercier in the Gare neighbourhood late Friday morning after reports of a person causing a disturbance. According to authorities, the individual, who was carrying a cane, entered the building shouting insults and threats. The person had drawn attention earlier but refused to leave the premises.
A police patrol located and detained the individual, taking them to the station for processing. Authorities confirmed the suspect has a prior criminal record.
Following the arrest, which was carried out on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the individual was presented before an examining magistrate on Saturday.
