
Fire fighters were notified of the blaze shortly after 10pm, and arrived on the scene to find the flames had spread to the roof of the house.
Despite quick intervention, the vacant house suffered immense material damage.
The fire was eventually put out around 1am on Tuesday morning, and caused road closures to allow access for the emergency teams.
30 volunteer and professional fire fighters assisted with the incident, hailing from Flaxweiler, Wormeldange, Grevenmacher and Remich. Police and an ambulance were also on site.
A smaller fire was reported earlier on Monday evening in the Monkeler industrial area in Schifflange, after rubbish caught fire. No one was injured.
A pedestrian was struck by a car in Consdorf shortly before 7pm.
The air ambulance was dispatched to take care of the victim, although there are no details as to the severity of the injuries sustained.
Two teams of fire fighters attended the scene alongside an ambulance and a police patrol.
