StatecGrocery prices decreased in May

According to statistics service Statec, Luxembourg's national consumer price index fell 0.2% in May compared to the previous month.

The reason for the decrease are lower grocery and fuel (-2.8%) grocery prices. Heating oil prices fell 13% while diesel prices dwindled by 5.3% in May. Petrol nevertheless increased in price by 2.7%. Compared to the same period last year, heating oil and petrol prices fell by approximately 25%.

Grocery prices also fell in May by 0.4% compared to April. Especially fruits and vegetables have become cheaper.

Men's clothes, mobile contracts, flowers, plants, and haircuts for women have meanwhile become more expensive.
