A Ryanair aircraft reported brake problems before landing in Luxembourg on Monday evening, prompting emergency services to be deployed at the Luxembourg Airport, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) confirmed. No one was injured in the incident.
Shortly after 10pm, the CGDIS and airport firefighters were called to Luxembourg Airport after the aircraft, en route to Luxembourg, reported issues with its brakes while still in the air.
According to the CGDIS, airport firefighters had already pre-positioned themselves before the plane even touched down.
The aircraft landed without difficulty. Emergency crews then checked the temperature of the brakes on site, and the braking system was cooled using specialised ventilation equipment.
The airline issued a statement on Wednesday morning:
"This flight from Dublin to Luxembourg (27 April) experienced a minor technical issue upon landing. Passengers disembarked normally and the aircraft was subsequently inspected by our engineers and cleared to return to service before departing for Dublin later that same day.”
