A major fire at a barn in Ferme de Beaufort near Bertrange prompted a large-scale response from emergency services, with no injuries reported, while a smaller vegetation fire was also dealt with earlier in Remich.

A major emergency response was launched at around 11.30pm on Monday after a barn caught fire in Ferme de Beaufort near Bertrange. Firefighters from no fewer than eight stations were deployed, including crews from Bertrange, Luxembourg City, Dippach, Dudelange, Mamer, Steinfort, Käerjeng, and Kahler.

They were supported by an ambulance from Dudelange, as well as specialist units including the Luxembourg Animal Rescue Group (GSAN), the Operational Technological Support Group (GATO), and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Group (GCBRN).

According to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), the fire caused material damage only.

Earlier in the day, at around 5.45pm, a vegetation fire broke out in Remich, on Rue des Prés. Fire crews from Remich and Schengen were called to the scene.
