Luxembourg police responded to two separate incidents on Friday night, one involving a disruptive individual in Luxembourg City and another at a bar in Rumelange.

At around 9.45pm, police intervened after a person caused a disturbance on a tram in Luxembourg City. The individual, who appeared heavily intoxicated, refused to disembark. Officers escorted them off the tram near the Glacis car park and requested identification. Instead of complying, the person attempted to urinate at the tram stop in full view of the officers. When instructed to stop, they became uncooperative and tried to punch one of the officers.

The police subdued and handcuffed the individual, who was subsequently detained overnight due to concerns for their own safety and that of others.

In a separate incident, police were called to a bar in Rumelange after 3am following reports of excessive noise. Officers found several people inside, violating regulations. While issuing a fine to the manager, they faced aggression from one of the manager’s relatives and other customers, prompting them to call for backup. Additional patrols arrived and de-escalated the situation. The bar manager and a family member were both penalised.
