A young driver, who had only recently acquired his licence, crashed through a fence into a field where he struck several cows.

A farmer in Aspelt received an unusual call early on 23 June, when police notified him that two of his cows had died after being hit by a car in their pasture in Wintrange.

According to reports, an intoxicated motorist had crashed through 20 metres of fencing, hitting four of the nine cows in the field.

Two of the animals did not survive, while a third is seriously injured. Police confirmed the incident on social media, which prompted a lot of comments on Facebook.

The young driver was intoxicated, but was not injured in the accident. Meanwhile, the farmer estimated that the crash caused €6,000 of damages.
