Coronavirus weekly updateDelta variant accounts for all week 35 infections

The National Health Laboratory (LNS) analysed 302 Covid samples from a total of 573 new infections registered between 30 August and 5 September.

The Delta variant is now fully dominant in Luxembourg, accounting for 100% of samples analysed during that week.

The monitoring showed that the parental line B.1.617.2 still occurs most frequently (73.4%), followed by AY.12 (9.9%). In terms of target groups, AY lines were found in 23.5% of post-vaccination breakthrough cases - that is, vaccinated people who contracted the virus.
