ALVA issued another reminder on Friday evening concerning all baby milk powder products recently recalled due to suspected cereulide contamination. Cereulide is a toxin produced by bacteria and can cause symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhoea between 30 minutes and up to 16 hours after consumption.
If any of these symptoms appear in a child, parents are advised to consult a doctor immediately, as vomiting and diarrhoea can quickly lead to dehydration in infants.
In recent weeks, several baby milk powder products have been recalled across Europe, including products from Nestlé, Babybio, and Popote. The brands affected in Luxembourg include Laboratoire Gallia, Blédina, Aptamil, and Nutrilon. ALVA has also recalled the products concerned in the Grand Duchy.
Parents can check whether a product they have purchased is affected by consulting the Food Safety Authority’s website or the LU-Alert platform, using the minimum durability date. Additional information is also available on the websites aptaclub.de and milupa.de
