A recall has been issued for the product ‘Aptamil Pronutra 1' (800g) with a best-before date of 10 November 2026. There is not only a suspicion that the milk powder is contaminated with the toxic cereulide, but also with the bacterium Bacillus cereus.

After consumption, this bacterium can cause symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea within 16 hours, similar to cereulide poisoning. If any of these symptoms are observed in a child, a doctor should be consulted as soon as possible. Vomiting and diarrhea can quickly lead to dehydration in infants.

The powdered milk is available for purchase at several locations in the country.
