Following the crash, traffic had stopped between Waldhof and Lorentzweiler on the A7. According to the ACL, the Stafelter tunnel had closed due to the accident.
At 3.45pm, there were five kilometres of tailbacks. By 5pm, the accident had cleared and the tunnel had reopened.
A second accident occurred on the southbound A7 in front of the Mersch tunnel. A lorry and a car crashed at 4.20pm. The roads and bridges authority closed one lane whilst both vehicles were based on the emergency lane. The lane closure has slowed traffic down.
