EducationClasses could be reunited for the last two weeks of school

RTL Today
Minister of Education Claude Meisch has hinted at the possibility of allowing classes to be reunited for the last two weeks of school before the summer holidays.

As lockdown measures were lifted, pupils returned to school, with classes split into groups to respect sanitary measures put in place to fight against the spread of the virus. The groups alternated their attendance at school, taking part in lessons one week and studying at home the next.

Now, discussions are currently underway with the various authorities with a view to returning to more normalcy in schools, according to Minister Claude Meisch. Current timetables would be maintained, with school lasting from 8am to 1pm, and reception structures would remain in place during the afternoon.

Meisch said he hoped classes could be reunited, allowing pupils to socialise before the summer holidays, and explained he was currently consulting all parties involved before making a proposal to the government council on Friday.

Should the proposal be accepted, schools would have a week to make the necessary arrangements, before allowing classes to mingle once more for the last two weeks of the term.
