Police are also looking for a witness who took care of a pedestrian who had been hit by a car in Esch.

The witness in question had been driving behind the car that caused the accident. This happened between 7.30 and 8pm on Boulevard John F. Kennedy in Esch. The pedestrian only sustained minor injuries. Esch police are now asking for the man to report back to them.

At approximately 2pm a car hit a construction site barrier on Rue Neudorf in Luxembourg-City. The car behind it managed to swerve out of the way just in time, but did strike the first vehicle slightly. The driver of the first car had only minor injuries, though was found to have been drinking, and received a temporary driving ban.

A woman was mugged on a walkway between Medernach and Larochette at 7.30pm. She was attacked from behind and thrown to the ground. The assailant then took her bag and ran away.

At around 3am in the night leading into Sunday, a man was assaulted in a park in Clausen. Two other young men beat him up before taking his money and phone. The victim filed a report against persons unknown.

Two break-ins were reported, one on Rue Anatole France in Bonnevoie. Fortunately the would-be robber was apprehended before even succeeding at entering the premises, and he was charged accordingly.

The other took place at around 7.30pm in Cessange: the residents of a house on Rue Antoine happened upon the robber, who was however able to escape along with a number if their belongings. A report was filed.

Some time around 3am on Sunday morning, police became aware of a driver who was travelling much too fast, especially considering the bad weather. The man entered the motorway at a very high speed and because he couldn't overtake immediately he continued to do so on the hard shoulder. Police were able to catch up with him, lead him off the Kayl exit and conducted the necessary controls. Aside from speeding, he had also consumed too much alcohol. His licence was revoked.

Another car chase took place in Esch-sur-Alzette on Rue Schifflange, after a drunk driver ran a red light around 5.30am on Sunday morning. When police officers started pursuing him he turned off his lights and started driving in a zigzag line, damaging another car.

However he was still caught and had his licence withdrawn. The owner of the damaged car was informed of the incident.
