The highest ever December temperatures in Belgium were recorded on 16 December 1989, when they reached highs of 16.7°C.

Luxembourg is also going through a mini “heatwave”, with temperatures ranging between 12 and 15°C on Thursday. The Duchy’s highest December temperatures since 1947 were measured in Findel on 17 December 2019, at 14.7°C. The average temperature for this time of year was measured at 1.8°C between 1981 and 2010; however, between 1991 and 2020 this average rose by 2.3 degrees.
