Environment AgencyAsh from wood pellets used illegally as fertiliser

RTL Today
The Environment Agency was informed of a case in which wood pellet ash was illegally used as fertiliser.

Ash-based fertilisers are only permitted under certain conditions. In this case, the handling and recovery of this type of waste did not comply with the law. As a result, the producer of the waste, the transporter, and a farmer were ordered to cease their activities. A copy of this file was sent to the public prosecutor, Minister for the Environment Joëlle Welfring said in response to a parliamentary question from the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV).
