
Compared to January, there have been price rises in February, predominantly due to the end of the winter sales. Clothing and shoes have risen by 18.7% alongside smaller increases in the hobby and culture sector (+2.2%) and furniture and home routine maintenance (+1.3%).
Petrol prices rose by 2.6% in February as well following three months of price decreases. Compared to February 2018, the cost of fuel products is 5.6% higher.
Other products have been boosted by the time of year, such as tour packages, which have risen by 6.4%, likely due to the half-term break. Similarly, Valentine's Day also saw the prices of flowers rise by 5.6%.
Compared to February 2018, the cost of food products has risen by 2.5%. February also saw the prices of fish and oils fall, albeit countered by the increasing cost of fruit and other non-alcoholic beverages.
Finally, the annual inflation rate has risen from 1.8% in January to 2.1% in February.
