Defence and Transport Minister Yuriko Backes will be in Berlin on Tuesday and Wednesday for a series of meetings and a major security conference, the Ministry announced on Monday.

Backes' visit on 18–19 November will focus on European security policy, cooperation with Germany and several transport and mobility dossiers, according to a ministry press release.

On Tuesday, the minister will attend the Berlin Security Conference, where a number of bilateral meetings are planned. These include a working dinner with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius. Discussions are expected to centre on Luxembourg–Germany cooperation, Europe's role within NATO, EU defence initiatives and the ongoing provision of military support to Ukraine.

On 19 November, Backes will meet German Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder. Their talks will cover a wide range of bilateral topics in road and rail transport, inland shipping and automated driving.

According to the ministry, the visit aims to further strengthen cooperation with Germany across these key areas.
