On Sunday and into the night leading into Monday, several individuals got behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
On Sunday afternoon, police in Schieren stopped a driver who was showing clear signs of drug use. Officers also noticed the smell of cannabis during the check. The drug test came back positive and the person's driver’s license was withdrawn.
At around 6.30pm on Sunday, police were notified about a driver who scraped a wall while exiting a car park. A patrol located the man shortly afterwards and carried out a check. The alcohol test was positive and a provisional driving ban was issued.
During the night into Monday, a police patrol noticed a broken-down vehicle on the A4 in the direction of Esch-sur-Alzette. The driver showed clear signs of alcohol consumption, and the alcohol test came back with a positive result. A provisional driving ban was issued.
At around 12.30am on Monday, police received a report of an intoxicated driver on the Route d'Arlon in Strassen. A patrol stopped the man shortly afterwards. The breathalyser test was positive, and a provisional driving ban was issued in this case as well.
