On Sunday, the Grand Ducal police received reports of a number of car and home break-ins over the weekend.
Around midday on Rue Dr. Albert Calmette in Vianden, burglars broke a window to gain access to a house.
Another home on Rue de la Montagne in Steinheim was broken into through a sliding glass door.
Investigations have been opened in both cases. Police have not disclosed whether anything was stolen from the homes.
Police also received reports of stolen items taken from cars.
On Sunday evening, unknown perpetrators smashed the window of a vehicle parked in Luxembourg City’s Grund district and then searched through the car. An investigation has been launched in this case as well.
At around 3.20am on Monday morning, police were alerted to a break-in involving a vehicle on Rue Elsy Jacobs in Garnich. A police patrol responded to the scene and was able to apprehend the suspected thief shortly afterwards. A report on the incident was filed.
