A new political chapter is set to begin in Contern after the resignation of the final executive board member, concluding a crisis that brought down the previous coalition.

The municipal executive board (Schäfferot) in Contern is poised for a complete renewal following the resignation of its final sitting member, Yves Loose of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV). His departure paves the way for the municipal council to elect a new executive body as early as next week.

Loose's resignation is the latest in a series of departures that began several weeks ago with the stepping down of CSV Mayor Marion Zovilé-Braquet and Executive Board Member Stéphanie Ansay of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP).

The previous executive board resigned after municipal staff members accused the former mayor of bullying. With the slate now clear, the municipal council is expected to vote on a new three-member team. The proposed executive is anticipated to consist of Dali Zhu of the Democratic Party (DP), Ari Arensdorff of the Green Party (déi Gréng), and Pol Thomé of the LSAP.
