The police intervened in two separate cases of drink driving during the early hours of Saturday morning.

The first incident occurred at around 5am in Dudelange, where a patrol observed a vehicle stationary at a stop sign. The driver, who appeared to be struggling to operate the car, subsequently switched seats with a passenger, who then took over the wheel. Officers immediately stopped the vehicle and conducted checks on both individuals. One of the two refused to take a breathalyser test, resulting in an immediate driving ban. The other provided a positive test. A formal report was filed, and the car was impounded.

Shortly thereafter, at approximately 5.30am, police were called to the scene of an accident on Rue de Hussigny in Differdange. A driver had collided with a crash barrier, causing the vehicle to roll over several times before coming to rest upright. A breathalyser test administered at the scene also proved positive, leading to another driving ban. The motorist was transported to a hospital for a medical examination following the crash.
