The prosecution is requesting life sentences for three of the four defendants in connection with the murder of a Luxembourgish resident in Portugal in 2021.

The main defendant faces charges of murder to facilitate theft, criminal association, premeditated murder, and poisoning.

According to the prosecution, the murder was planned in Luxembourg by the defendant, her mother, and her mother’s partner, who then carried out the crime together in Portugal.

However, prosecutors determined that the son of the main defendant, although aware of the plan, did not actively participate in preparing the murder. As a result, the charge of criminal association cannot be upheld against him, meaning the Luxembourgish court has no jurisdiction over his actions in Portugal.

Nevertheless, the prosecution maintains that the son helped dispose of the victim’s body by throwing him into the water in Figueira da Foz in August 2021.
