Strong winds on Saturday caused widespread disruption across Luxembourg, with fallen trees blocking numerous roads, temporary tram suspensions between Findel and Luxexpo, and three people injured after a tree fell on a car.

A yellow weather alert was issued for Saturday between 8am and 4pm, with strong winds also forecast until around 7pm.

The weather proved quite changeable, at times resembling April showers. In many parts of the country, winds blew noticeably stronger than expected.

The National Roads Administration announced that, due to the weekend storm, the Manternach–Mertert road will remain closed until sometime on Monday.
