At around 5.40pm on Monday, a 55-year-old bus driver died after suffering a medical emergency while driving on the CR349 between Scheidel and Kehmen, causing the bus to leave the road.

As a result of the bus driver’s medical emergency, he lost control of the vehicle. Police officers attempted to resuscitate him, but all efforts were unsuccessful. The 55-year-old man died at the scene. The public prosecutor’s office was informed and a post-mortem examination has been ordered to establish the exact cause of death.

In response to enquiries from RTL, it was confirmed that there was one passenger on board the bus at the time of the incident. The passenger was unharmed.
