Together with meteorologist Jörg Kachelmann, RTL takes a closer look at the Grand Duke’s royal tour across the country with, of course, an eye on what the weather has in store.
According to meteorologist Jörg Kachelmann, strong gusts of wind between 60 and 70 km/h are expected on Saturday morning and afternoon in Luxembourg, with occasional gusts of up to 80 km/h.
For most people this is nothing too dramatic, but for those living near trees and scaffolding, caution is advised. The wet ground and heavy foliage could cause branches to break or, in the worst case, even topple trees.
Additionally, there may be brief but heavy rain late in the morning.
In the afternoon, conditions will become more variable. Typical “April weather” is expected, with a few showers and some sunny spells. By evening, the chance of rain will drop to below 20%, so it should mostly stay dry.
Temperatures will fall throughout the day. After a slightly warmer start, the afternoon is expected to reach around 13°C. Kachelmann therefore recommends packing a good jacket.
For the Grand Duke’s royal tour, this means: no catastrophic weather, but a day with a lot of variety, fresh winds and a few slightly uncomfortable moments. With some caution and warm clothing, however, the Grand Duke will have nothing short of a successful tour across the country, the meteorologist adds.
