The Giorgetti group officially inaugurated its GridX complex on Thursday, launching what it heralds as "Europe's first multi-experience destination" in Luxembourg.

It is official: the Giorgetti group has inaugurated its flagship project, GridX, in Wickrange. The multi-use complex, which launched on Thursday in the presence of several of Luxembourg's influential figures, is billed as "Europe's first multi-experience destination located in Luxembourg".

The XXL development in the country's southwest, a few kilometres from Esch-sur-Alzette, aims to be "much more than a shopping centre" by combining retail, entertainment, mobility, art, hospitality, and gastronomy. The site features a food hall, hotel, lounge, business centre, and office spaces.

While a portion of the complex opened to the public this summer, the Giorgetti group has planned two further opening phases for October and the end of the year.

24 brands set for September opening

Several establishments, including the Giolabs brands, Brasserie Jane, the Koru Health Club fitness centre, and the Galleria 610 car museum, are scheduled to open within the next three months. The Ducati dealership has also announced an opening for the end of October.

For those eager to visit, the food hall, hotel, and several shops are already operational. "Ten years of effort coming to fruition", an enthusiastic Marc Giorgetti declared to a packed room. He presented GridX as a destination for the whole family, where "Dad can go look at the cars, the kids can have fun, and Mum can go shopping."

The complex also includes an "arena", a hotel school, a driving school, and a dedicated events space. According to information obtained by our colleagues at RTL Infos, a supermarket may also be established on-site.

Félix Giorgetti, grandson of the company's founder, emphasised the arena's versatility, stating that "the possibilities are endless... ranging from small markets to a karting track for children". Marc Giorgetti affirmed the thoughtful layout, noting, "this isn't a complex where you just walk around in circles or pass through twice; all tenants have a good location here." The first events are already scheduled for this weekend.

1,500 parking spaces with a future tram connection

To accommodate visitors, the complex offers 1,500 on-site parking spaces. According to information obtained by our colleagues, parking will remain free for the first two hours.

While the site is currently best accessed by car, future public transport connectivity is confirmed. Minister of Housing Claude Meisch stated on Thursday that GridX will be served by the fast tram. According to our colleagues, the corresponding stop is scheduled to be built between 2028 and 2030.

Regarding tenancy, the complex has reached an 80% occupancy rate. A total of 24 brands opened their doors in September. This will be followed by 11 additional openings in October, four in November, and a further four between January and March 2026.

According to the group's management, the development has already created nearly 200 jobs. For interested retailers, it was noted that spaces are still available to rent.
