Driving under the influence
A number of motorists lost their licences overnight after failing alcohol tests.
Shortly after midnight, a police patrol on the A6 to Arlon noticed a vehicle travelling extremely slowly and weaving across the motorway. Officers pulled the car over at the Capellen services, where they discovered the driver was heavily intoxicated, and issued a provisional driving ban.
Later in the early hours, a car was observed driving dangerously near Altrier. Police were able to flag the vehicle down on the N11, where they performed a breathalyser test on the driver. The individual had their licence confiscated on the spot following a positive result.
Another driver lost their licence after being caught driving while intoxicated on Route du Vin in Mertert at 1.30am.
At around the same time, police were notified of a motorist weaving back and forth across the A7. A patrol stopped the car in Colmar-Berg and tested the driver, whose blood alcohol content was so high that they lost their licence on the spot.
