RTL Today - Annual tradition: Mayors trade politics for aprons at Schueberfouer charity night

52 mayors from across Luxembourg will swap politics for aprons on Tuesday evening, serving diners at the Schueberfouer to raise funds for the Luxembourg Red Cross.

As part of a long-standing tradition, 52 mayors from across Luxembourg will gather at the Schueberfouer to serve guests at 17 different restaurants on Tuesday evening. The charity initiative runs from 7–10pm, giving visitors the chance to be served by their local mayor, or the mayor of a nearby town.

Mayors will earn a symbolic salary of €5,000 for their work, which is then donated to the Luxembourg Red Cross in its entirety.
