The Ukrainian Minister of Defence travelled to Senningen on Thursday for a work visit.

Denys Schmyhal took the opportunity to thank Luxembourg for showing his country solidarity and support from the first minute of the war.

At the same time, he issued a plea for further aid, as one of Ukraine's priorities is to build its own drones, up to 20 million a year. Ukraine is relying on the help of European allies to create mechanisms to repel Russian drones.

The United States wants to increase pressure with long-range Tomahawk missiles and attack Russian military infrastructure, including in the Moscow region.

A meeting of NATO defence ministers took place in Brussels on Wednesday. Luxembourg is participating in the NATO initiative Purl with a €15 million contribution.
